The study found that raloxifene, a drug used to prevent and treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, reduced invasive breast cancer incidence by nearly half. “It’s good news for postmenopausal women who are at increased risk for breast cancer. It gives them a new option in the chemoprevention of breast cancer,” says D.
